Celebrating 30 Extraordinary Years | Happy Birthday GLF APOLLO!

Since the transfer of the breeding herd to Alabama Stud in the Upper Hunter Valley late in the previous decade, the three elder statesmen of the Mulawa breeding programme have remained in residence in Sydney, blessing our lives each day with their magnificence and presence. In the last 12 months, we have bid a bittersweet farewell to both FAME MAKER R, who was laid to rest in April 2019 just shy of his 30 th birthday, and to TS AL MALIK just two months ago in January, in his 28 th year of life. The only senior sire remaining is not only the stallion whose importation launched the modern evolution of the Mulawa programme in the early 1990’s, he is the stallion who has lived longer at Mulawa than ANY other - imported, introduced,

Mulawa Open Barn Postponement | Sunday 09 Feb

Due to the significant rainfall the farm has received in the past 24 hours and the significant rainfall forecast for the next several days, the decision has been reluctantly made to postpone the Mulawa Open Barn scheduled for Sunday 09 February. Given the all too recent threat of the bushfires surrounding the Sydney area and all of coastal NSW, this abundant rain is a welcome reprieve to the many months of drought, heat and fire risk. Given the busy schedule prior to the Australian National Championship in early March, we anticipate rescheduling this Open Barn, and the educational seminar covering the topic of “ The Why, When, What & How of Masterful Show Clipping” for sometime later in March or early April.

Several Mulawa-bred & related horses competed for top honours, adding considerable cache to their expanding show credentials. Saturday proved to be an absolutely perfect spring day, featuring the purebred halter classes in the afternoon. Though quantity was modest, quality was unquestionably high, with worthy contenders in every single division. The final line-up of senior mares was especially impressive, with former East
