Generations of International Gold | DURRAT ALBIDAYER

The invaluable Mulawa foundation dam family of M ANGELIQUE has added yet another record-breaking accolade to its long list of achievements with the triumph of DURRAT ALBIDAYER (by Jyar Meia Lua) at the first European leg of the Global Champions Arabian Tour in Cannes, France. In a stunning show ring debut, the most talked about filly of last year's global foal crop was sashed Gold Champion Yearling Filly for proud owner and breeder Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi of the United Arab Emirates.

DURRAT's impressive score of 92.57 was not only the highest of all the yearling entries at the show, she was awarded an astounding fifteen perfect scores of 20, earning the  highest score amongst all the yearling competitors in the categories of Arabian Type, Head & Neck and Movement. Her perfect scores of straight 20's for Head & Neck tied with two other seasoned superstars at the show - All Nations Cup Gold Champion D NAJLAH (D Seraj x Elle Flamenca by Ajman Moniscione) and World Gold Champion E.S. HARIR (AJ Dinar x TF Magnums Magic by Magnum Psyche) - which places this debutante amongst some of the most exalted company in the global Arabian breed.

DURRAT's dam is the glorious A VISION MI (Allegiance MI x Always Valentine MI by DA Valentino), a thirteenth-generation Mulawa-bred international champion that has been masterfully stewarded by Sheikh Mohammed & Dawn Martin of Albidayer Stud, as well as Raphael Curti, Team Privilege & Team STC since leaving Australia as a young two-year old. Most incredibly, DURRAT is lucky number seven in an unbroken line of successive champion females, dating back to the original Mulawa Foundation Mare M ANGELIQUE who has born nearly four decades ago in 1986. Four of DURRAT's famous tail-female ancestresses are honoured as Aristocrat Dams - two of which produced eight champions each and the other two credited with five champions each, while both her dam, A VISION MI, and her granddam, ALWAYS VALENTINE MI, have broadened the appeal and acclaim of the family with multiple international titles of prestige earned in their impressive show careers.

Not only is DURRAT's dam family - affectionately known as the 'Family of Angels' - one of the most important foundation families at Mulawa, her dam line is also one of the most influential and successful in all of Australia, tracing back to the only SKOWRONEK (Ibrahim x Jaskółka by Rymnik) daughter ever imported to the Antipodes: NASIRIEH (out of Nisreen by Nureddin II), born in 1923. Imported by the legendary breeder Dora Maclean for her seminal Fenwick Stud in Victoria, the Crabbet-bred NASIRIEH was a direct tail-female descendant, four generations removed, of the desertbred DAJANIA (born 1876), one of the invaluable pillars of Arabian breeding worldwide. Through the exceptional broodmare DIMITY (Banderol x Tamara by Rami), maternal great-granddam of M ANGELIQUE, DURRAT shares the same distaff roots as another globally renowned Australian icon - EAGLERIDGE PASSIONATA (Sanadik El Shaklan x River Oak Dimity) - whose long list of accomplishments as both a show and broodmare continue to enchance the reputation of Australian breeding on every continent.

We are also immensely proud of ALLEGIANCE MI (Magnum Forty Four x Audacia by Parkview Audacious), maternal grandsire of DURRAT ALBIDAYER, Australia's leading sire of national and international champions for most of the last decade. ALLEGIANCE has not only been a banner carrier for the Mulawa ideal with his legions of international champion get that have been rewriting the record books all across the globe, he proudly represents so much of what has made the Mulawa breeding programme reliable and respected the world over, with direct links to foundation sires AMBITION (Bask x Bint Ambara by Comet), TS AL MALIK (Hello Barich ELS x BF Tiffany Select by BF Rageymazon) & MAGNUM FORTY FOUR (Magnum Psyche x WH Nashahna by Bey Shah), as well as the dual 'Queens of Mulawa' - EUNI (Bandos x Eunice by Comet) & KARMAA (Kaborr x AN Marieta by AN Malik). The daughters of ALLEGIANCE MI continue to prove themselves invaluable broodmatrons capable of producing foals of world-class quality with remarkable predictability.

The success of DURRAT in Cannes was shared by another Albidayer home-bred international superstar, Silver Champion Senior Mare BASMAH ALBIDAYER (Fadi Al Shaqab x Bidayer by Emigrant). Congratulations to Sheikh Mohammed, Dawn Martin, Raphael Curti and the Albidayer and Privilege SFQ Teams on this amazing success!

The special recognition for Australian breeders on the global stage in Cannes was shared with Alexandra Hodsman, breeder of the amazing ALGAMRA (AJ Portofino x Ava Maryia by Eden C), whose daughter AISHA AL SHEIKH (by Jyar Meia Lua) was named Gold Champion Junior Filly just moments after DURRAT's debut triumph. A very sincere congratulations to Ferdinand Huemer of La Movida Arabians, owner of JYAR MEIA LUA (RFI Maktub x Jiullya El Jamaal by Ali Jamaal), the sire of both the Gold Champion fillies with Australian connections. It is especially rewarding to know the influence of Lenita Perroy's legendary breeding programme lives on through these extraordinary young fillies.

We are so incredibly thankful to all the members of the international Mulawa Community who have made the success of DURRAT ALBIDAYER not only a possibility, but more importantly, an unfolding reality whose best moments are yet to come. It continues to be a privilege to share in this journey of a lifetime with the Arabian horse with all of you...
